Preguntas frecuentes
What is the IRS mileage rate for 2025?
70 cents per business mile for all of 2025, 21 cents for medical and military moving miles and 14 cents for charity miles (IR-2024-312).
How much is 10,000 miles worth at the 2025 IRS rate?
$7000 if driven for business, split by the date you drove when the rate changed mid-year. Add business parking and tolls on top; gas and repairs are already covered by the rate.
Can I deduct mileage for driving to work?
No. Driving from home to your regular workplace is commuting and is never deductible, even if you take work calls on the way. Trips from your regular workplace to clients, between job sites or to a temporary work location are deductible business miles.
Is mileage reimbursement taxable income?
Reimbursement under an accountable plan is tax-free up to the IRS standard rate. If your employer pays more per mile, or pays a flat car allowance without a mileage log, the excess is taxable wages reported on your W-2.
